December 1-2, 2016 in Ufa, the Second Small Business Forum of the regions of member states of the SCO and BRICS has been held. About 1,000 delegates from 34 regions of Russia (representatives of government authorities, heads of enterprises, business associations, experts and scientific communities) and 13 countries took part in the Forum.
The event was organized by the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the State Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Entrepreneurship and Tourism, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Bashkortostan with the support of the SCO Business Council and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
The main topics of the forum were issues of increasing non-primary exports, development of agriculture and franchising, support of youth entrepreneurship.
Prospects for small and medium-sized businesses in the development of non-primary exports were considered at the devoted briefing, at which Viktor Larionov, director of the company Most Marketing, acted as a speaker.
In addition, the Forum participants identified the role of small business in innovative, knowledge-intensive and import-substituting industries at the discussion panel, moderated by Viktor Larionov.
At the final panel session, the participants summed up the two-day work of the Forum, discussed a number of issues aimed at overcoming administrative barriers and developing of small business.
